PG Tortures a Hollowbody

A guitar magazine sent me this song and asked me to play a solo over it. The track is very clean blues, done with drum machine and sparkly, happy-jazz keyboards.

I tried playing some "appropriate" licks at the first, but I couldn't stand it for long. So I soon resorted to purposefully irreverent feedback squeals, exaggerated pick-up humming, six-string bass "Satisfaction" melodies (to mock the keyboard melody underneath), Robin Trowish warblings, and Van Halen phase-shifted speed licks. Superclean acoustic Muzak-licks finish it off.

I guess I wrecked my chances for the John Tesh gig. Damn!

Potato Head (Demo)

I wrote this song for a Japanese band called "Mr. Orange". They did a great version of it on their "Radiostaticactivity" CD. Here's the demo I made for them, and possibly the best punk rock drumming I will ever do.

Weedwacker

Here's some fast guitar for the purists out there. I recorded this song for an Ibanez guitars play-along contest in 1993.

I'm Just in Love (Spanish Version!)

I'm still working on the heavily choreographed dance moves. Then Ricky Martin and Enrique Iglasias better watch out...

Puffy

I am a Puffy Evangelist.

I love the music from this cool Japanese band, and I won't stop annoying my friends with constant Puffy songs until the world is converted to loving them too. Spread the Word. Domo Arigato.

Rosalina Told Me (demo)

Jeff Martin and I recorded this demo while writing the songs for "Alligator Farm". It's about a girl that I saw at a local Italian restaurant. When I finished the song, I gave her a copy of the demo. After convincing her that I wasn't a stalker, she agreed to dress up in a crazy showgirl costume and pose for the CD cover.

  Racer X Guitar Solo '87

I found this on an old Racer X live tape. I think it's from '87. You can hear a big clunky noise in the middle where I put my guitar on the floor and play it piano-style. This also features one of my earliest attempts to use the Makita drill to play the guitar. The melody that I chose to play is pretty ironic. Check it out!

Oh Caroline

I love Cheap Trick. I wish I was Robin Zander. I wish I was Bun E. Carlos. I wish I was Tom and Rick too. So here's my version of their song from the "In Color" record.

Guitar Techniques Metal Solo

This is from "Guitar Techniques" magazine. I hadn't played those very mysterious scales in a while, but I had fun trying to remember!
